Desley Faulks – Entertainer, Bowen Therapist and Inspiring Educator

Desley is very well known in Australian Bowen circles as a “larger than life character and charismatic entertainer”. In this episode of the BowenBuzz we get to chat with Desley as she tells us how she got her start in Bowen Therapy and shares some tips on getting your Bowen business rocking and also some personal stories and a wonderful case study which changed the life of a young client.

In the show we mention BNI as a great way to get the word out about your business through word of mouth referrals. Desley and I are both members of local BNI chapters and recommend you check out this worldwide referral network as a potential way to grow your business.

Is It Fate, What do you Think?

In this episode I wonder of the origins of Bowen Therapy and how it has arrived at where it is today. I loosely quote a poem from the introduction of John Wilks and Isobel Knight’s excellent book on Bowen Therapy “Using the Bowen Technique to Address Complex and Common Conditions” and go on to contemplate what the consequences for Bowen Therapy has been depending on who it was that documented and shared his interpretation and perhaps how it may have been very different.

What would have been the outcome for what we know as Bowen Therapy if it had only been taught as a unit in a Osteopathy course or as a CPD for Chiropractors?

What did Tom Bowen see in Ossie Rentsch at that chance meeting in Adelaide?

In this episode of the Bowenbuzz we get to hear from Merry Cooper who is a lady who has been around the Bowen world for sometime. From a career in information technology in the very early days of computing Merry has travelled and lived in a number of countries and for the past 6 years finds herself in Singapore practicing Bowen therapy and co ordinating the training of Bowen therapists  in the early days of Bowen therapy training in Singapore. I enjoyed my chat with Merry and I think you will too.
